LXC, or Linux Containers, is an operating-system-level virtualization method for running multiple isolated Linux systems on a single control host. It works by utilizing kernel features like cgroups and namespaces to partition resources, allowing applications to run in distinct environments without the overhead of a full virtual machine. Each container acts like a lightweight virtual server, sharing the host’s kernel while maintaining its own filesystem, network stack, and process space.
