Reverse Proxy

A reverse proxy is a server that sits in front of one or more web servers and intercepts requests from clients. Instead of a client connecting directly to an application server, it connects to the reverse proxy, which then forwards the request to the appropriate backend server and returns the response back to the client. This setup is commonly used to manage traffic load, improve security by hiding the identity of backend servers, and handle tasks like SSL termination or caching to optimize performance.
